Country Crossroads Counseling
A little bit about Avery Lough . . .
"I believe that everyone has the opportunity to make positive changes with support and guidance on their specific challenges."
Hi, my name is Avery Lough. My husband and I have recently moved to the Lee’s Summit area, and I am excited to be a part of the Country Crossroads Counseling team!
I am originally from Dillard, MO, which is a small place in the middle of the Mark Twain National Forest. I grew up spending most of my time outdoors gardening, working on the farm, cutting firewood with my dad, gathering with family, and meeting with our local church to actively grow in my faith. I attended high school in nearby Viburnum, MO and graduated with a class of around 30 students. Growing up in such a close rural community taught me that every individual is valuable beyond measure. I knew early on that I wanted to become a counselor to help people realize the positive impact that they can have in their own families and communities.
I started my professional journey as a teacher for two years after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Central Methodist University. While working as a teacher, I obtained a Master of Arts in K-12 School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health from Missouri Baptist University. I am currently a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor with three years of counseling experience. My primary theoretical approaches are Solution Focused and Person Centered Therapies. I believe that everyone has the opportunity to make positive changes with support and guidance on their specific challenges.
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors and playing games with family and friends. I strive to maintain a positive guided life by spending time with family, being active, eating healthy (yes, chocolate ice cream is healthy), and having faith. I truly appreciate you taking a few minutes to visit the Country Crossroads Counseling website. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to getting to know you and helping guide you to achieve your specific goals!
