I'm Hayley Chorice Tlamka, and I'm so glad you're taking the time to visit the website and learn more about the counselors at Country Crossroads Counseling. The therapist-client relationship plays such a big part in effective therapy, so I am grateful for your consideration. I grew up in Southwest Missouri, but have called the Kansas City area home since 2013.

I graduated from Missouri State University in 2012, with my Bachelor's in Social Work. I then moved to Kansas City and began working with teens in a residential treatment program. I stayed there for several years then went back to school, where I earned my Masters in Social Work from Park University in 2017. I have worked in schools and community mental health agencies, where I've been able to lean into my passion of working with children, teens, and young adults.

My belief is you are the expert to your own life. I can be a sounding board for processing thoughts and experiences, and I can also assist in development of new skills to serve you throughout the rest of your life. I work from a strengths perspective, and will provide a nonjudgmental environment for therapy. I utilize a variety of trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, and components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog, where we generally work on a never-ending list of home renovations. I maintain an active lifestyle and work to prioritize health, exercise, rest, and play.
