A little bit about Kathleen Midgett . . .

Kathleen Midgett

Hello! My name is Kathleen. I’m so glad you’re taking the time to check out our website. Counseling is an adventure that can have many ups and downs but is ultimately so worth it! As with many challenges, the first step may be the hardest. But once you take the leap into self-discovery and growth, it’s gains outweigh the cost.

I grew up in the Johnson and Cass County areas and have always had a passion for helping people. I got a Public Relations degree with the idea of working for a non-profit organization, but found myself working for the U.S. House of Representatives after college. After a few years working in politics, I went back to school for my Master of Arts in Counseling.

The idea of working as a counselor didn’t even enter my mind until I got counseling for myself. As someone who has benefited greatly from counseling throughout my life, I sincerely believe that we are not meant to go through life’s struggles alone.

I think C.S. Lewis expressed it well when he wrote “Be weird. Be random. Be who you are. Because you never know who would love the person you hide.” I hope to create a space for people to be 100% their authentic (often messy) selves.

I enjoy working with all kinds of clients and issues. While my approach is often based in cognitive behavioral therapy, I love to tailor an approach to each client’s needs and personalities.
