Hi, my name is Susie Arbo, and I want to thank you for taking a few minutes to visit the Country Crossroads Counseling website. Growing up in the country gave me a sense of peace and relaxation. It's the place I always seem to return when I need tranquility from this bustling world in which we live. Located about 20 minutes between Warrensburg, MO, and Lee's Summit, MO, it's a short but relaxing drive in the country.

A South Dakota State University Graduate, in 2005 I received my masters of science in counseling degree and proceeded to get my Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification. I am also a Certified Reciprocal Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CRADC). I have recently attended a year long training collaborative on Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I've worked as a school counselor, a drug court counselor and most recently as a community mental health therapist. I enjoy helping children, teenagers, and adults work through their issues to live a positive and productive life. I also specialize in couples and marriage counseling and have helped many couples find happiness and fulfillment in their relationship.

My theory approach is solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy. As the name suggests, solution focused therapy is a future focused, goal directed approach. It focuses on solutions, rather than on the problems to seek therapy. This is a new and innovative approach, which is an intense and brief life changing experience. I will focus on getting people on track with their lives, rather than conventional counseling that can take years to accomplish. Every situation and person is different, but the average Solution Focused Based Therapy duration is 8 to 12 sessions.

I also co host a TV show, Better Horses, with Ed Adams which airs nationally on RFD-TV and the Cowboy Channel, as well as on several local markets.

In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, riding and showing horses, and going to the lake.. I'm also a big Kansas City Chiefs fan.  I'm a former KC Chiefs Cheerleader and Rider of Warpaint for 13 seasons.  I moved to the Kansas City area in 2008 and now consider it my home.
